2 earthquakes jolt Madhya Pradesh’s Seoni within 5 hours; tremors felt in region


SEONI: Two earthquakes of 4.3 and a couple of.7 magnitudes have been skilled in Madhya Pradesh’s Seoni district on Sunday (November 21), officers mentioned.

There was no report of any casualty or harm to property to date, they mentioned.

An earthquake of 4.3 magnitude was recorded at 1.45 am with its epicentre at a depth of 10 km close to Seoni metropolis, India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Bhopal middle scientist Ved Prakash Singh mentioned.

Later, one other earthquake of magnitude 2.7 was recorded at 6.23 am on the similar place, he mentioned.

Eye-witnesses mentioned some residents of Seoni and different elements of the district awakened on experiencing the tremors and got here out of their homes.

Local resident Praveen Tiwari mentioned doorways, home windows, mattress and different gadgets at his dwelling shook for about 15 seconds in the course of the first earthquake within the evening.

“People rushed out and stayed outside their homes for the entire night in the cold,” Tiwari mentioned.
