Reacting to Mr. Adhikari’s public meeting, the TMC said he is very much with the party.

“Suvendu Adhikari is a very senior and important leader of our party. He is very much with us. I request the media not to speculate, ”TMC secretary general Partha Chatterjee said.

The TMC has opened back channel talks with Mr. Adhikari and is trying to address his grievances to retain him in the party. TMC MP Sougata Roy, who has been assigned by the party to talk to Mr. Adhikari, said he was very much in the party.

“We had a fruitful discussion and have reported it to the party. He is very much with us. The media should stop speculating, ”Mr. Roy said.

The BJP took a dig at TMC and said infighting in it shows that its days are numbered.

“No one might be pleased in a political get together just like the TMC, which is a non-public restricted firm,” West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh stated.

Apart from East Midnapore district from the place he hails, Mr. Adhikari has affect in about 35-40 meeting constituencies in West Midnapore, Bankura, Purulia and Jhargram districts which fall within the tribal Jangalmahal space and in components of Birbhum district.
