Democrats, in a letter to GSA head Emily Murphy, requested to be briefed about why the transition course of hadn’t begun.

House Democrats are asking a Trump administration official for an instantaneous briefing to clarify why she has not launched the transition course of for President-elect Joe Biden.

Democrats stated in a letter to General Services Administration head Emily Murphy that her refusal to start transition actions required by legislation has grave results, together with undermining the orderly switch of energy, impairing the incoming administration’s capacity to answer the coronavirus pandemic, hampering its capacity to deal with our nation’s dire financial disaster, and endangering our nationwide safety, Democrats stated.

The letter is signed by the chairs of the House Oversight and Appropriations committees. It requests an instantaneous briefing with Ms. Murphy to assist lawmakers determine whether or not to name Ms. Murphy and different officers to testify at a public listening to.

Ms. Murphy has but to certify Mr. Biden because the winner of the presidential election, stalling the method of formally launching the transition.
